Thinking that alcohol will bring prosperity to Bellevue is like asking a one-legged man to stand on his own two feet.

On May 17, voters in Bellevue will decide whether Bellevue remains "dry" or allows the sale of alcoholic beverages. Although some good people want to approve the referendum, I believe that allowing "booze in Bellevue" will be detrimental to our town.

Avalon Borough will hold its annual “Dump-ter Day” this Saturday, May 22, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the field across from the fire hall on New Brighton Road.

Kimberly Behr, 40, of Pittsburgh, was charged with retail theft from Giant Eagle, as well as possession of marijuana, on July 30.

Bellevue’s Dept. of Public Works (DPW) employees will paint the Memorial Park swimming pool after they receive paint, the purchase of which was approved May 4 by Bellevue Council.

Paint for the annual project is expected to cost $9,000.
