The Northgate Flames traveled to Dormont Stadium Friday night, where they ran into a well-oiled machine. That machine was the, WPIAL's #5-ranked, Crusaders from Bishop Canevin.

The Flames showed a lot of heart against the Crusaders, but the Crusaders' disciplined and methodical style of football proved to be too much for the Flames to contain. When it was all said and done, the Crusaders would serve up a 42 - 0 defeat to the traveling Flames.

Someone once said, “You’re never as good as you think you are when you’re playing well and you’re not as bad as they think you are when you’re playing poorly.” Let’s just hope that is the situation following the Northgate Flames football team’s second overwhelming loss of the season last Friday at Steel Valley.

The Flames were powerless in stopping Steel Valley’s ground game, which accumulated 316 yards. They picked up their second consecutive defeat as they were pounded by the Ironmen 47-19.
