A panel of four spoke to those present: superintendent Dr. Valerie McDonald; solicitor William Andrews; Greer Hayden of HHSDR, the architects/ engineers for the project; and Antonio Misiti of PNC Capital Markets, the district's financial advisor.

A team of young television producers from Avonworth Middle School will have the opportunity to see their public service announcement aired on stations across the state after taking the top score in a contest sponsored by Drug Free Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania National Guard Counterdrug Joint Task Force.

The 2011 “Sound Off” television and radio PSA contest challenged students to produce a TV or radio spot based on the theme “Prescription for Success.”

Gabriele Arlia Gabriele Arlia, 81, of Bellevue, husband of the late Michelina Arlia, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He is survived by his son, Gennaro P. “Jerry” Arlia and his wife Mary Lou of Bellevue; his sister, Angela Arlia and her husband Antonio; five grandchildren, Andrea and Lona Arlia, Eric Havel and his wife Becky, Courtney Havel and Dana Kablack; four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Madilynn, Seth and Jayden; two nephews, Joseph Arlia and his wife Anne Marie and Nick Arlia and his wife Angela; and two grandnieces, Maria and Julia Arlia.
