Kenneth Todoverto Sr. Kenneth M. Todoverto Sr., 81, of Bellevue died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Todoverto; four children, Kenneth Todoverto Jr. and his wife Sandy, Janice Barry and her husband Mike, Carla Pritchard and her husband Glenn and Donna Boyer; his sister, Louise Killian; and five grandchildren, Brian Verlihay and his wife Steph, Steven Verlihay, Glenn Pritchard Jr., Becky Pritchard and Ally Boyer.

Dorothy Malloy Dorothy R. Gastner Malloy, 91, of Emsworth, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011. She is survived by her husband, J. Regis Malloy; and three children, Bonnie Bass and her husband James, Diane Barr and her husband James and Ronald Malloy. Services and burial were private. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home.

Janet Sill Janet L. Sill, 73, of Ross Township, formerly of Brighton Heights, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011. Mrs. Sill was a nurse's aide at Little Sisters of the Poor for 28 years. She is survived by her husband, George J. Sill; five children, Kathy Dostlik, Michael Sill and his wife Denise, Janet J. Sill, LynnDee Henc and her husband David and Robbie L. Sill; five siblings, Lois Booth, Joyce Scherle, Raymond Reihart, David W. Reihart Jr. and Mary Bliss; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Saylor.

Helen Schmalzl Helen Herzlieb Schmalzl, 90, of Avalon, wife of the late Albert Schmalzl, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Mrs. Schmalzl was a member of the Church of the Assumption Christian Mothers and an active member of the Sewickley YMCA. She is survived by three children, Helen Schmalzl, William Schmalzl and his wife Patricia and Richard Schmalzl and his wife Mary; and six grandchildren, Greg, Max, Alex, Evelyn, Will and Ellie. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Herzlieb.

Dominic Angeloini Dominic A. Angeloini, 80, of the North Side, husband of the late Catherine M. Angeloini, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He is survived by three daughters, Angie and her husband Todd, Patty and her husband Brian and Toni and her husband Jack; his sister, Philomena; six grandchildren, Christina, Brandon, Nicole, Ashley, Zackery and Miranda; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and J.T.; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and his dog, Ginger. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Angeloini; and two siblings, Art Angeloini and Betty McBurney.

William Kisling Sr. William R. Kisling Sr., 78, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, June 29 2011. Mr. Kisling was a longtime member of Northgate Church. He was an avid sportsman and outsdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Kisling; four sons, John R. Kisling and his wife Jean, Thomas W. Kisling and his wife Toni, William R. Kisling Jr. and Ty Kisling; two sisters, Irene Roof and her husband Jack and Virginia Klimko and her husband Edward; and five grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Zachary, Justin and Tyler Kisling.

Raymond Seekford Raymond Seekford, 69, of Emsworth, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Mr. Seekford was retired and a member of Iron Workers Local #3 for 43 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea.

Betty Jane Titler Betty Jane Sharpnack Stevenson Titler, 86, of Avalon, formerly of Brownsville and Youngstown and wife of the late Eugene Stevenson and Guy Titler, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010. Mrs. Titler was a registered nurse, taking care of veterans of World War II. She then worked in Ohio and at Bellevue Suburban General Hospital in the neonatal unit. She enjoyed reading, playing the slot machines and watching soap operas.

Lawrence Conte Lawrence A. Conte, 94, of Bellevue, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Betty Conte; two sisters, Anne and Angela; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held in North Hills Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon.

Lillian Stevens Lillian M. "Toots" Stevens, 95, of Oakmont, formerly of Emsworth and wife of the late Kenneth Stevens, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010.

Judith California Judith Ann Papania California, 44, of Ross Township,. died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. Mrs. California was a graduate of North Hills High School and Carnegie Mellon University. She worked as a chemical engineer for several years.

A local man has received the American Legion Valor Award for his actions under attack in Afghanistan last fall.

U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Patrick Benson, who grew up in the Bellevue/Ross area, joined the Army in 1992, hoping to fulfill his dream of becoming a helicopter pilot. Since 1996, he has been piloting Kiowa helicopters, small, armed aircraft that provide security for the larger Black Hawk Medevac helicopters, among other assignments.

Sidionia Hellerman Sidionia C. Roose Hellerman, 89, of Avalon, wife of the late Allen A. Hellerman, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She is survived by three children, Edward P. Hellerman and his wife Marcia, Marie E. Griffin and her husband Harry and Allen B. Hellerman and his wife Barbara; her brother, Richard Roose; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Benjamin, John and Joseph Roose and Margaret Bordt.

Mary M. Carte Mary M. Carte, 73 of Steubenville, OH, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Weirton Medical Center. Mrs. Carte was born on Aug. 19, 1936 in Emsworth. She was retired from Suburban General Hospital in as a nurse. She was Catholic by faith, and was a volunteer for the United Way and Red Cross. She was past president of the Women’s Club, and enjoyed reading, line dancing and bowling.

William Bartus William C. Bartus, 92, of Oakdale, PA, husband of the late Betty J. Megahan Bartus, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. Mr. Bartus was a retired printer from Bankers Lithographics in Blawnox. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Noblestown, the Holy Name Society and Meals On Wheels in Oakdale. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Rosemary Heflin Rosemary Heflin, 77, of Bellevue, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009. Mrs. Heflin was a local politician serving as a Bellevue Council member and mayor. She is survived by her husband, Jack F. Heflin; six children, Kathy Conlon and her husband Tom of Tampa, FL, Roberta J. Conway and her husband Michael of Bellevue, Judith Glinski of Moon Township, Laura Ann Kozlowski of West View, Jack F. Heflin Jr. of Bellevue and David E. Heflin and his wife Jennifer of Emsworth; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Elizabeth Platek Elizabeth M. Platek, 78, wife of the late Lawrence B. Platek, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Penny Platek; four siblings, George and Robert Henrish, Margaret Nolfe and Florence DeAngelis; nieces and nephews; and her pets, Xena and Misha. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Teresa and Jody Ann Platek; and six siblings, Michael, John and James Henrish, Anna Matusky, Kathryn Davenport and Helen Mezzetti.

Richard Lundell Richard E. "Dick" Lundell, 78, of Ben Avon, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009.

Mr. Lundell was a U.S. Amy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Headliner as a lithographer.

Edith Freed Edith McClelland Freed, 93, formerly of Bellevue and wife of the late David S. McClelland and Charles W. Freed, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 in Baptist Home. Mrs. Freed was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She is survived by three children, Donald K. McClelland, Sharon L. Freed and Patricia E. Fasciano and her husband David; her grandson, Marc McClelland; her sister-in-law, Lucille McClelland; her goddaughter, Patti Drake; and nieces and nephews.
