Betty Jane Titler Betty Jane Sharpnack Stevenson Titler, 86, of Avalon, formerly of Brownsville and Youngstown and wife of the late Eugene Stevenson and Guy Titler, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010. Mrs. Titler was a registered nurse, taking care of veterans of World War II. She then worked in Ohio and at Bellevue Suburban General Hospital in the neonatal unit. She enjoyed reading, playing the slot machines and watching soap operas.

Judith California Judith Ann Papania California, 44, of Ross Township,. died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. Mrs. California was a graduate of North Hills High School and Carnegie Mellon University. She worked as a chemical engineer for several years.

Theodore Andartes Theodore J. Andartes, formerly of Emsworth and husband of the late Dorothy Andartes, died Thursday, July 8, 2010. Mr. Andartes was a Mason and member of the North Hills Lodge. He was a former elder at Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church. He is survived by five children, Gloria Moss, Barbara Fonzi, Donna Faynor, John Andartes and Dorothy Derbish; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Andartes and Madeline Britsch.

David Galvin David W. Galvin of Butler, PA died Wednesday, May 12, 2010. He is survived by his mother, Fay Tegge Galvin; three siblings, Patricia Crawford and her husband Edward, Timothy J. Galvin and his wife Debbie of GA and James T. Galvin of Bethel Park; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy A. Galvin. Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Saturday.

Sidionia Hellerman Sidionia C. Roose Hellerman, 89, of Avalon, wife of the late Allen A. Hellerman, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She is survived by three children, Edward P. Hellerman and his wife Marcia, Marie E. Griffin and her husband Harry and Allen B. Hellerman and his wife Barbara; her brother, Richard Roose; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Benjamin, John and Joseph Roose and Margaret Bordt.

Grace Heppenstall Grace Armstrong Heppenstall of Avalon, wife of the late Max R. Heppenstall, died Sunday, March 7, 2010. She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Grimshaw and Jean Krepps; and five nieces and nephews, George Grimshaw, John Grimshaw, Mary Grimshaw-Donovan, Karen Krepps-Wood and Tom Krepps. There was no visitation and services were private. Burial was in Homewood Cemetery. Arrangements were made by H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, North Hills.

Mary Lubbert Mary E. Lubbert of Avalon, wife of the late Harry Lubbert Jr., died Thursday, March 4, 2010.

Lynne Nicotero Lynne M. Nicotero, 65, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010. Mrs. Nicotero worked with the mentally and physically challenged for many years. She is survived by her husband, Ross V. Nicotero II; four children, Julie Sansotta and her husband Gary of Port Royal, SC, Ross Nicotero III and his wife April of Ross Township, Peter Nicotero and his wife Colleen of Spring Hill and Jessica Siwicki and her husband Jeremy of Sandy Lake, PA; and five grandchildren, Sarah, Dominique, Kaylee, Jeremy and Julian. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Pasquale.

Catherine Dopp Catherine M. "June" Dopp of Brighton Heights died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009. Mrs. Dopp was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for 60 years and a member of St. Cyril of Alexandria Christian Mothers.

Joseph Tumpa Sr. Joseph C. Tumpa Sr., 91, of West Deer Township, formerly of Avalon and husband of the late Julia M. Visnansky Tumpa, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. Mr. Tumpa was a member of Utility Workers of America (AFL-CIO) Local #433.

Alice Koenig Alice Faulkner Koenig, 64, of Emsworth, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Mark W. Koenig; six children, Laura Arcan and her husband Metin, Bob Faulkner, Tom Faulkner and his wife Debbie, Brian Faulkner and his wife Jill, Eric Faulkner and his wife Stacy and Alice Mack and her husband Ken; two siblings, Ralph Earl and Audrey Karr; 12 grandchildren, Bobby, Brandi, Ben, Amanda, Jeremiah, Brian Jr., Connor, Trevor, Peyton, Katelyn, Jeremy and Kenny; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Faulkner.

Kirk Tyler Kirk F. Tyler of Avalon died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Carlson Tyler; three sons, Kirk M. Tyler of Maryland, Scott T. Tyler and Brad P. Tyler; four siblings, Ronald Tyler and his wife Nancy, Marilyn Hutchison and her husband Bill of Nevada, Joyce Schraeder and her husband Garry and Noreen Sarazen and her husband Larry; his sister-in-law, Jean Tyler; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin “Butchie” Tyler.
