Coaches hired

Coaches for fall sports were awarded supplemental contracts by the Northgate School Board.

Todd Goble will be the head golf coach, paid $3,533.

Mike Pipak will return as head football coach at a stipend of $6,804. Other football coaches hired include Jeff Smith, first assistant, $4,559., and assistant coaches Dan Sefick, Chris Lucas, Dave Haslett, Jr. and James Durkin, each of whom will be paid $4,083.

Stephanie Francis will be paid $3,558 as the head volleyball coach, with assistant coach Katie Greco paid $2,384.

Northgate Coaches

Several coaches were approved at the Northgate School Board's meeting on Jan. 18.

Approved were:

Stephanie Francis, middle school volleyball coach, $2,093; Katie Greco, assistant coach, $2,093.

Todd Goble, head baseball coach, $4,245; Ross Amrhein and Joe Andrews, shared first assistant coach position, $1,422 each; Regis McDevitt, assistant coach, $2,547.

Michael Bichko, head softball coach, $4,131; Nicole Cetti, first assistant coach, $2,767; Connie Anastasio, assistant, $2,479.

Joanne Jamriska, middle school swim coach, $3,334.

Volleyball players recognized

Northgate girls’ volleyball team members Erica Benny (center) and Amanda Silay (right) along with coach Stephanie Francis were recognized by the Northgate School Board and athletic director/principal Bryan Kyle at the board’s meeting Monday evening. Both girls were named to the first team all conference, while Benny also was named to the all-WPIAL third team for the second consecutive year. The board also recognized the girls’ cross country team and individual runner Bridgit Walters for their performance during the WPIAL and PIAA championships.
