PAYMENT QUESTIONED

Editor: I just read in The Citizen that Emsworth has to pay an engineering firm $29,496.80 for plans that are not able to be used for a bridge. My question is,what are the council members thinking?

"Refresh" votes needed

The Bellevue speaker project is once again eligible for funding through the Pepsi Refresh program.

If the project receives enough votes, Enjoy Bellevue will receive $25,000 to install a speaker system throughout the extended Lincoln Avenue business district. The speakers could be used for music, announcements and emergency notifications.

Everyone who registers can vote daily though December. Go to http://www.refresheverything.com/bellevue. Voters also can text 104353 to Pepsi (73774).

"Refresh" Bellevue

A project for improvements in Bellevue's Lincoln Avenue business district has been accepted as part of the Pepsi Refresh program, and needs votes during the month of August.

Pepsi is offering grants for community projects across the country, with the funded efforts decided by on-line votes. Enjoy Bellevue successfully submitted a request for funding for a sound system along Lincoln Avenue that can be used to play music in the shopping district, for special events, and also for public announcements.
