Aloysius Gallagher Aloysius M. Gallagher, 70, of Allison Park, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Mr. Gallagher worked as a consultant in human resources. He was a lector at St. Ursula Church in Allison Park and a volunteer and member of the Renew Group. He taught at the Heinz School of Carnegie Mellon University, St. Francis University, LaRoche College and Butler County Community College.

Gabriele Arlia Gabriele Arlia, 81, of Bellevue, husband of the late Michelina Arlia, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He is survived by his son, Gennaro P. “Jerry” Arlia and his wife Mary Lou of Bellevue; his sister, Angela Arlia and her husband Antonio; five grandchildren, Andrea and Lona Arlia, Eric Havel and his wife Becky, Courtney Havel and Dana Kablack; four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Madilynn, Seth and Jayden; two nephews, Joseph Arlia and his wife Anne Marie and Nick Arlia and his wife Angela; and two grandnieces, Maria and Julia Arlia.

A local Navy veteran has been honored in Navy Recruiting District Pittsburgh.

Petty Officer First Class Matthew Koll, a graduate of Northgate High School, won Recruiter in Charge [RINC] of the Year honors at Navy Recruiting District Pittsburgh's annual awards banquet in Niagara Falls.

Daisy Channing Daisy Sanders Channing, 89, of Bellevue, formerly of Monongahela and wife of the late Jack Channing, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009. Mrs. Channing volunteered for Meals On Wheels for many years. She regularly donated blood and was a bodybuilder in the 1940s and a member of the downtown Pittsburgh YMCA.

Kirk Tyler Kirk F. Tyler of Avalon died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Carlson Tyler; three sons, Kirk M. Tyler of Maryland, Scott T. Tyler and Brad P. Tyler; four siblings, Ronald Tyler and his wife Nancy, Marilyn Hutchison and her husband Bill of Nevada, Joyce Schraeder and her husband Garry and Noreen Sarazen and her husband Larry; his sister-in-law, Jean Tyler; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin “Butchie” Tyler.
