Benefit Concert

A benefit concert will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. in Bayne Park.

"A Night with the Stars" features Bob Morelli as “Dean Martin” and Chris Denem as “Neil Diamond.”

The concert is dedicated to Becky Bennett, and all donations benefit the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.

Second attempt to oust solicitor falls short

For the second time in as many weeks, an attempt to oust Bellevue’s solicitor has failed.

A week after a motion to seek proposals from attorneys failed in a tie vote at the borough council’s reorganization meeting, a second motion made at the first regular council meeting on Tuesday met the same end.

Reorganization problems in Bellevue

The post-election reorganization of Bellevue Council Monday night was not without incident -- several of them in fact. The meeting began with one council member-elect omitted from the swearing-in, and ended with questions about the legitimacy of the entire process. In between, a new regime took charge of council, and perhaps set the tone for the coming year.

Primary features lots of races

In addition to the alcohol referendum on the Bellevue primary election ballot, there are quite a few other races across the North Boroughs that will have to be decided.

Although registered Independents normally cannot vote in primaries, they will be able to cast their votes in Bellevue for the referendum only.

Bellevue to readvertise civil service commission seat

Bellevue council decided, at its regular meeting on May 5, to readvertise for applicants for an appointment to the Civil Service Commission, after declining to select the only person who filed an application on time.
