The Port Authority has announced changes to the 16 Brighton (formerly 16B Brighton) route related to the Jacks Run Bridge reconstruction. The changes went into effect this week and are expected to last through Dec. 1.

Riders using the 16 Brighton bus route should be aware of the following adjustments:

Before 2:p.m., inbound buses will pick up and discharge passengers at the outbound bus stops along California Avenue between Termon Avenue and Wynhurst Street in Brighton Heights.

Bellevue Police News

Police and firefighters spent several hours Sun-day night searching for the body of a woman who jumped from the Jacks Run Bridge on Route 65. Allegheny County homicide detectives and the medical examiner’s office were called to the scene once the woman was located in the heavily-wooded area.

One person was taken into custody after an occupant of a vehicle reportedly flashed a gun at the Dairy Queen on Ohio River Boulevard on June 5. Police quickly stopped the vehicle and discovered that one of the occupants was wanted on warrant by the county sheriff’s office.

Bridge agreement

Bellevue Council authorized, at its regular May 5 meeting, an agreement between the borough and Allegheny County for the repair of Kendall Avenue following the rehabilitation of the Jacks Run Bridge.

The motion passed by a vote of 8-1, with council member Jerry Walter opposed.
