The Jacks Run Bridge between Lincoln Avenue in Bellevue and California Avenue in Brighton Heights -- better known locally as the High Bridge -- is expected to re-open to unrestricted vehicular traffic on Monday.

The span has been closed since March 1, when work began to rehabilitate the bridge deck and repair the substructure, an $8.9 million project funded by the federal, state and county governments.

Bob Sciullo of GAI Consultants said that work beneath the bridge will continue over the next several months, and one sidewalk will remain closed for the time being.

An amendment to Bellevue’s parking ordinance was tabled during Council’s regular meeting on May 4 after it was determined the proposed amendment eliminated more parking spaces than desired.

The Safety Committee had proposed the elimination of one parking space on Lincoln Ave. near the Port Authority bus stop at Burnside Ave. in order to give buses room to pull over when stopping for passengers.
