Lane closures

PennDOT is announcing single lane closures on Route 65 in the area of the I-79 Interchange in Glenfield Borough will occur next week, Oct. 3-7, weather permitting.

Crews will be cleaning and inspecting the I-79 bridges over Route 65. Closures will occur as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. All ramps will remain open. I-79 will not be affected.

Bluff gets yellow light

The Kilbuck Township Planning Commission has given conditional approval to the Carey's Bluff housing development, with details to be worked out before final approval is received from the township supervisors.

Kilbuck wants sewage plant safeguards

Although most of the homes in the proposed Carey's Bluff development will lie within Glenfield Borough, one key element is planned for Kilbuck Township, where officials are hoping to protect Kilbuck and its residents from any future problems.

Developers of the community -- which will include both single family homes and condominiums -- along Toms Run Road want to place a sewage treatment plant on the Kilbuck side of the border, but officials want to make sure that plant doesn't end up costing Kilbuck in the future.

Route 65 re-opens

PennDOT District 11 is advising motorists the single lane traffic restriction currently in place on northbound Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard) in the area of the I-79 Interchange in Glenfield Borough, Allegheny County, will be removed around noon today, Friday, Dec. 17.

Northbound Route 65 will be fully reopened; southbound restrictions were removed earlier this month. Only the ramp from the Glenfield Viaduct to southbound Route 65 will remain closed through Dec. 23.

Route 65 ramp closing

The ramp currently being used as the temporary off-ramp from northbound Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard) to the Glenfield Viaduct/Kilbuck Street/I-79 in Glenfield Borough will be closed beginning Friday, July 23, weather permitting.

The ramp closure will occur from 7 a.m. on Friday through Oct. 1. The closure is necessary as crews begin slope repairs.
