Sharon Woods Sharon E. Woods, 60, of Avalon, died Thursday, March 31, 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Slepski and her husband Thomas Streiff and Shannon Slepski; two brothers, Charles D. Woods and his wife Marylyn and Ronald J. Woods; her granddaughter, Jaedyn Slepski; her former husband, Glenn Slepski; and nieces and nephews. Friend were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon, where services were held on Sunday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

William Chapman William H. Chapman, 83, of Franklin Park, formerly of Ross Township and Bellevue, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010. Mr. Chapman served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS LST 1059 as Seaman 1st Class in the Pacific Theatre and then in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a graduate of Robert Morris College with a degree in business. He completed his graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a member of McKinley-Stuckrath Masonic Lodge #318 for 56 years and a member of West View VFW. He was a sports enthusiast, an avid supporter of animal conservation and an outdoorsman.

Judith California Judith Ann Papania California, 44, of Ross Township,. died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. Mrs. California was a graduate of North Hills High School and Carnegie Mellon University. She worked as a chemical engineer for several years.

John Gregor John T. Gregor, 87, of Pittsburgh, husband of the late Gertrude Gregor, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 in Toledo, OH. Mr. Gregor was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a machine gun operator. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Bellevue Council #1400. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Barbara Mitchell; four siblings, George and Paul Gregor, both of Pittsburgh, Josephine Caughhorn of Toledo and Ann Bamiller of Chicago, IL; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Gregor.

Aloysius Gallagher Aloysius M. Gallagher, 70, of Allison Park, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Mr. Gallagher worked as a consultant in human resources. He was a lector at St. Ursula Church in Allison Park and a volunteer and member of the Renew Group. He taught at the Heinz School of Carnegie Mellon University, St. Francis University, LaRoche College and Butler County Community College.

Several arrests for driving under the influence were made by Ohio Township POlice during the past week:

A traffic stop on Mt. Nebo Road on Feb. 27 resulted in the arrest of Jeffrey Hnat, 46, of Franklin Park.

Thomas Caccavo, 57, of Indianapolis, IN, was charged following a traffic stop on Camp Horne Road in Emsworth on Feb. 28.

Steve Hunt, 35, of McCandless, was arrested during a traffic stop on Camp Horne Road in Ohio Township on Feb. 28.

Arrested during a traffic stop on Mt. Nebo Road in Ohio Township on March 2 was Robert Leight, 58, of Franklin Park.

William Bartus William C. Bartus, 92, of Oakdale, PA, husband of the late Betty J. Megahan Bartus, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. Mr. Bartus was a retired printer from Bankers Lithographics in Blawnox. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Noblestown, the Holy Name Society and Meals On Wheels in Oakdale. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Faulkner.
