Northgate Class of 2010

Northgate High School’s 119 members of the Class of 2010 were led by valedictorian Jimmy Silay (pictured at far right), salutatorian Megan Coleman and Beattie Tech salutatorian Dylan Winters. The son of Bill and Nancy Silay of Avalon, Jimmy will major in engineering at Case Western University. Megan, the daughter of Mark and Alice Coleman of Bellevue, will study actuarial science at Robert Morris University. Dylan will continue his study of advertising and design at California University. Arthur Gets Around

Arthur knows he is smart, but maybe not as smart as these top Northgate graduates. He stopped by Northgate High School to congratulate Dylan Winters, Megan Coleman and Jimmy Silay on their outstanding academic achievements.

Flames fall apart after hot start

It was beginning to look as though the Northgate baseball team would break into the win column for the first time this season when they hosted Brentwood this past Wednesday.

Sadly, the wheels came off in the top of the seventh, where three errors contributed to a six-run inning for the Spartans, who came from behind to defeat the Flames 8-5.

The game was for the most part a defensive battle, one in which the Flames committed no errors in the field throughout the first five innings.
