Carl Trimber Carl E. Trimber, 79, of Ross Township, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Mr. Trimber was retired as a teacher and coach at Northgate High School for more than 34 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an avid runner. He is survived by his wife, Bette Nazzaro Trimber; two daughters, Sharon and Lisa Trimber; his sister, Margaret Dalzell; and nieces and nephews.

Lynn Searight Jr. Lynn R. Searight, 83, of the North Side, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Searight; four children, Lee and Tim Searight, Lisa M. Blauch and her husband Victor and Sherri L. Searight-McKinney and her husband Bob, all of Pittsburgh; two siblings, William F. Searight and his wife Virginia and Geraldine M. Searight; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon, where a blessing service was held on Friday.

M.L. "Petey" Hager On Dec. 27, 2012 Petey passed away quietly at the age of 89 in Sykesville, MD. Her energy, enthusiasm and spirit for life will be incredibly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon, 7501 Church Ave., followed by a social gathering in the fellowship room to celebrate her life.

Sarah Neuherz Sarah Kathleen Beggs Neuherz, 85, of Avalon, died Saturday, March 9, 2013. Mrs. Neuherz worked as a military secretary. She was a telephone operator for many years. She is survived by eight children, Linda, Steve and his wife Lynn, John, Mark and his wife Debbie, Thomas and his wife Nancy, Timothy, Robert and his wife Debbie and Gerald; her sister, Joyce Winn; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, James and Joseph Neuherz.

Ted Christ Ted D. Christ, 79, of Brighton Heights, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Mr. Christ was co-owner of Christ Printing for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Seitz Christ; two children, Sandra Christ and Dale Christ and his wife Kristen; his brother, Wayne Christ; two grandchildren, Michelle and Alea Christ; and his cat, Junior. Nancy Brooks Nancy Jean Brooks, 76, of Kilbuck Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. Mrs. Brooks was a summa cum laude graduate of Duquesne University. She was an administrator and educator at Eden Christian Academy for 15 years. She is survived by her husband, M. Richard Brooks; two sons, Richard L. Brooks and his wife Donna and Ronald Charles Brooks and his wife Lynda; five siblings, Virginia Held, Karen Miller, Kathryn Nordorff, Jim and John Kirch; and three grandchildren, Richard L. II, Dayna J. and David Brooks.

Nan Wittler Nan Kelley Wittler, 57, of Ohio Township, formerly of Binghampton, NY and Allentown, PA, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford. Mrs. Wittler was president of her company, Hugs & Wishes, Inc., a porcelain doll company, from 1990 until 2001. She had constructed and hand-painted collectible dolls. She crocheted chemo caps and afghans and made stained glass creations. She worked as a claims specialist.

He is survived by three children, Cheryl Brown and her husband Lloyd, Joyce Wright and her husband Phillip and Larry Rekasie and his wife Amy; his sister, Anna Spece; and three grandsons, Chad and Cory Rekasie and Travis Wright. Baginski and her husband Tom, Barbara J. DeTemple and her husband Donald and Terry A. Walsh and her husband Mike; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy E. Opperman; and two brothers. There was no visitation. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Saturday. Julia Bamberger Julia Bamberger, 97, of Bellevue, wife of the late William Bamberger, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012. She is survived by four children, Richard Bamberger, William Bamberger, Connie Redman and Barbara Boyd and her husband Howard; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kay Bamberger. Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Monday. Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Everett Niemela Everett Arthur Niemela, 90, educator, woodworker, and WWII veteran, died Sept. 13, 2012 of natural causes at White Horse Village continuing care community in Newtown Square, PA. Mr. Niemela was a long-time resident of Ben Avon. Born in rural Long Branch, PA to Finnish immigrants, Mr. Niemela was the youngest of 11 children growing up on a working farm. He graduated from Charleroi High School in 1939. He volunteered for the Army Air Force at the start of World War II and served as a flight engineer on a B-24 crew stationed in England, earning three Bronze Stars.
