Rev. John Guest retires from Christ Curch at Grove Farm

Rev. John Guest, senior pastor and rector of Christ Church at Grove Farm delivered farewell comments, along with his final sermon, to congregants on Sunday, Dec. 26, ending his work in those positions he has held for nearly the entire 15 years that the church has existed in its Duff Road location.

The Ohio Township church was formed in 1995 with approximately 120 people worshiping each week. Under Dr. Guest's leadership, attendance has grown to four Sunday morning services with the current participation of more than 1,500 people.

Ohio Twp. Police News

Ohio Township Police are investigating the theft of a purse at Christ Church at Grove Farm in Ohio Township. The theft was reported May 6.

A resident of Brighton Road in Ben Avon reported May 6 that a vehicle window had been broken.

Gregory Riggs, 45, of Emsworth, was charged with harassment following a domestic incident at his residence on May 6.

Paul Tamosauskas, 55, of Ben Avon, was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic accident on Ohio River Boulevard in Emsworth on May 10.

Driver Safety Course

The Primtimers at Christ Church at grove Farm will offer an AARP driver safety course for drivers age 50 and older.

The course will be geld at the church in Ohio Township on April 12 and 13, 8 a.m. to noon. Attendance both days is required to qualify for an insurance premium discount.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee will preach at Christ Church at Grove Farm in Ohio Township on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Driver Safety Course

The AARP driver safety course designed for drivers ages 50 and older is being offered by the Primetimers group at Christ Church at Grove Farm in Ohio Township.

The course will be held Oct. 14 and 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. Attendance is required on both days to qualify for an auto insurance premium discount.

Cost is $14, or $12 for AARP members. Checks should be made payable to AARP.

Irene Bickel Irene Bickel 93, of Bellevue, wife of the late Bill Bickel, died Monday, July 27, 2009 in Vincentian Regency Nursing Home. Mrs. Bickel worked as a bookkeeper and secretary. She enjoyed the musical community, bowling, bingo, crossword puzzles, reading and needlepoint.
