Prom magic

Avonworth High School students attending their prom last weekend at the Fairmont Hotel witnessed "Prom Magic" come true for one special couple, Samantha (Sam) Cancilla and Christopher Old. Chris and Sam have known each other for seven years, first meeting at a church function and now dating for around two years, but they have not seen much of each other lately -- the past three months, in fact -- since Chris, a 2011 CAPA grad, joined the Marines and is currently stationed at Fort Leo-nard Wood in Missouri, where he is training to become a military policeman.

Kenneth Todoverto Sr. Kenneth M. Todoverto Sr., 81, of Bellevue died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Todoverto; four children, Kenneth Todoverto Jr. and his wife Sandy, Janice Barry and her husband Mike, Carla Pritchard and her husband Glenn and Donna Boyer; his sister, Louise Killian; and five grandchildren, Brian Verlihay and his wife Steph, Steven Verlihay, Glenn Pritchard Jr., Becky Pritchard and Ally Boyer.

Elizabeth McFarlane Elizabeth A. "Betty" McFarlane, 84, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011. Mrs. McFarlane was a school crossing guard in Bellevue for many years. She is survived by her husband, Richard J. McFarlane; three children, Richard J. McFarlane Jr. and his wife Chris, Patricia Brelloch and her husband Rick and Kathy Weifenbach and her husband Lee; three granddaughters, Kelly Harshman and her husband James, Colleen McFarlane and Megan Brelloch; and two great-grandsons, Elija and Isaiah Harshman.

Eleanor Lundberg Eleanor Y. Yoders Lundberg, 86, of Bellevue, wife of the late George C. Lundberg, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010. Mrs. Lundberg was a longtime member of Bellevue Central United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed bowling with the Morning Glories bowling league. She is survived by her son, Carl Lundberg and his wife Chris; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Warden and Harry Yoders, Bertha Comstock, Dorothy Trimble and Florella Myers.
