Lois Hutchison Lois "Hutch's Mom" Hutchison of Pittsburgh died Monday, March 19, 2012. She is survived by six children, Sheila Harvey-Meta, Cindy Johnston, Frank Hutchison, Chris Burns, Kelly Demko and Edward Poplowski; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Gayle Zagel and Donna Miller. Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. Funeral services were held in Riverview United Presbyterian Church, Observatory Hill on Friday. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Matthew Church.

Phillip Hahn Phillip C. Hahn, 64, of Aliquippa, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Hahn; two daughters, Lori Frocek and her husband John of Wilmington, DE and Kristin Bennett and her husband Brian of Emsworth; his mother, Marion Hahn of Ohio Township; two siblings, Robert and his wife Cheryl of Evans City and Gloria of Ohio Township; three grandchildren, Zane, Luke and Anna; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward W. Hahn; and his brother, Edward C. Hahn.

David Galvin David W. Galvin of Butler, PA died Wednesday, May 12, 2010. He is survived by his mother, Fay Tegge Galvin; three siblings, Patricia Crawford and her husband Edward, Timothy J. Galvin and his wife Debbie of GA and James T. Galvin of Bethel Park; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy A. Galvin. Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Saturday.

Elizabeth Kenny Elizabeth T. Kenny, 89, of Bellevue, died Thursday, May 13, 2010.

Several Avonworth senior high and middle school singers have been making their voices heard in chorus activities throughout the area.

From the senior high, Travis Kohler, a junior, and Andrea Weinzierl, a senior, recently participated in the Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association (PMEA) District 1 Chorus at Gateway High School. Travis also performed this week at the PMEA Regional Chorus held at Butler Arera High School.

Madonna Halsey Madonna M. Halsey, 82, of Avalon, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010. Mrs. Halsey was a longtime employee of Avalon Borough, where she worked as a clerk in the police department. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ernest C. Halsey; five grandchildren, Kelly, George, Kenny, Joe Jr. and his wife Audrey and Danny; a great-grandson, Joe III; her daughter-in-law, Debbie; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, Keith and Kristine; her sister, Marion; and her granddaughter, Melissa.

Ohio Township Police have charged two people with stealing Blu-Ray discs valued at $900 from the Mt. Nebo Target store on Jan. 9. Arrested were Melinda Schlemmer, 24, of Butler, and Christopher Rusnock, 25, of Elwood City.

Alan David Howe, 42, of Shaler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance at the Home Depot store on Jan. 11.

Joseph Druzak, 42, of Aliquippa, faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after he was arrested following a traffic stop on Ohio River Boulevard in Emsworth on Jan. 9.
