Bellevue Avalon Girls Athletic Association (BAGAA) will hold registration for the upcoming fall fast pitch softball season.

Registration starts on Monday, Aug. 2 at McDonald's on Ohio River Boulevard in Bellevue, 6-8 p.m. Players can register Aug. 4 and 6, 6-8 p.m. at Gillott Fieldc located off Davis Avenue in Bellevue. A $50 registration fee is due at sign-up.

The league is open to those 18 years old and younger as of Jan. 1, 2010. The season starts Sept. 11 and ends Oct. 31. All games are doubleheaders played on Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.

Bellevue Dems to pick mayoral candidate

There will be two candidates on the May 19 primary ballot for the Democratic party's nomination for mayor of Bellevue. Voters will choose between incumbent George Doscher and challenger Mike Braunlich.

Doscher, who has lived in Bellevue for 52 years, says that he is at a time in his life when he wants to give back to the community. He was involved with the Bellevue Planning Commission, served one term as a member of council and is finishing his first term as mayor of Bellevue.

Project Manager Explains DPW Problems

The project manager responsible for overseeing two Bellevue construction projects explained recent problems that have arisen and apologized to residents for weekend disruptions during a special meeting of Bellevue Council on Thursday, May 13. The bottom line, however, is that the cost of the projects will push closer to the $1 million mark.
