Alma Fleming Alma Eleanor Oestreicher Fleming, 97, of Wadsworth, OH, formerly of Kilbuck Township and wife of the late James D. Fleming, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Livingston and her husband Paul; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three nephews; and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Nellie Oestreicher; and her brother, Charles Oestreicher and his wife Helene. Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side, until the time of services on Friday. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery.

Anna Marie Ayres Anna Marie Staudenmaier Ayres, wife of the late George W. Staudenmaier, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011. She is survived by four children, George W. Ayres Jr. and his wife Ruth, Mary Ann Turkovich, Margaret "Peggy" Ayres and Rose Marie Ayres; and her grandson, William Turkovich and his wife Stephanie. She was preceded in death by six brothers; and her son-in-law, John Turkovich.

Elizabeth McFarlane Elizabeth A. "Betty" McFarlane, 84, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011. Mrs. McFarlane was a school crossing guard in Bellevue for many years. She is survived by her husband, Richard J. McFarlane; three children, Richard J. McFarlane Jr. and his wife Chris, Patricia Brelloch and her husband Rick and Kathy Weifenbach and her husband Lee; three granddaughters, Kelly Harshman and her husband James, Colleen McFarlane and Megan Brelloch; and two great-grandsons, Elija and Isaiah Harshman.

The Fellowship of Ministries, representing the churches and the Christian social service agencies of the North Boroughs, invites the community to attend a special worship service commemorating the 10th anniversary of the events of Sept. 11, 2011.

It will be held at the Church of the Assumption, 45 N. Sprague Ave.. in Bellevue, on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 4:00 p.m.

The combined choirs of several North Boroughs churches will sing portions of Gabriel Faure's “Requiem,” under the direction of Dr. Neil Strahurski. This piece was performed in its entirety on the first anniversary of 9-11.

Helen Schmalzl Helen Herzlieb Schmalzl, 90, of Avalon, wife of the late Albert Schmalzl, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Mrs. Schmalzl was a member of the Church of the Assumption Christian Mothers and an active member of the Sewickley YMCA. She is survived by three children, Helen Schmalzl, William Schmalzl and his wife Patricia and Richard Schmalzl and his wife Mary; and six grandchildren, Greg, Max, Alex, Evelyn, Will and Ellie. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Herzlieb.

Joseph Barshowski Joseph Barshowski of Pittsburgh, husband of the late Mary Ann Barshowski, died Saturday, July 30, 2011. He is survived by his brother, David Barshowski and his wide Orysia; a nephew, Donald; and a niece, Nancy. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva; and five siblings, Michael, Stephania, Alexander, Frank and John. Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. Edward Moore Edward McClelland Moore, 94, of Bellevue, husband of the late Dawn (Mary Ellen) Moore, died Thursday, July 14, 2011. He is survived by six children, Joseph Moore and his wife Joanne, Charlene Amend and her husband Dennis, Daniel Moore, Thomas Moore and his wife June, Patricia Hallam and her husband Patrick and Mary Ellen McDonough and her husband Daniel; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-lae Elvira Moore. He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence E. Moore.

The 29th annual Northgate School Community Picnic will be held at Kennywood Park on Saturday, May 28.

"FunDay" tickets at $22 will be sold in school buildings on Thursday, April 28; cash or money orders payable to Kennywood only. Tickets will be sold at Assumption at 8:30 a.m., Avalon Elementary at 9:50 a.m., Bellevue Elementary at 10:35 a.m., and the high school 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m.

Bus transportation will be available to those purchasing a bus ticket for $1 prior to the day of the picnic.

Pauline Klasterka Pauline R. Yankovic Klasterka, 88, of Ross Township, wife of the late Frank E. Klasterka, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011. She is survived by two children, Joane Lapsley and her husband David and Frank L. Klasterka and his wife Lisa; her sister, Anna Marie Zacharias; three grandchildren, Bill Lapsley, Frank and Katelyn Klasterka; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary Miller and Eleanor Hirsch.

Betty Jane Titler Betty Jane Sharpnack Stevenson Titler, 86, of Avalon, formerly of Brownsville and Youngstown and wife of the late Eugene Stevenson and Guy Titler, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010. Mrs. Titler was a registered nurse, taking care of veterans of World War II. She then worked in Ohio and at Bellevue Suburban General Hospital in the neonatal unit. She enjoyed reading, playing the slot machines and watching soap operas.

She is survived by four children, Barbara Hyde, Joanne Hyde, Andrew Golden and his wife Kathleen and Maureen Golden; four grandchildren, Jeff, Sherry, Jay and Afton; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Eva Andrews. Services and burial were private. Memorial contributions are suggested to Forbes Hospice. Helen Rooney Helen V. "Vonnie" Rooney, 95, of Elmira, NY, formerly of Pittsburgh and wife of the late Paul Rooney, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010. Mrs. Rooney had been a longtime member of Annunciation Church and past president of its Christian Mothers Association. She enjoyed bowling and her card clubs. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook.
