Ohio Township Police have identified the man who robbed an Emsworth resident on Jan. 10 as the same man arrested Thursday morning for the rapes of two women in Ross Township.

Ohio Township Police Chief Beaver Micklos said that his officers planned to file charges Thursday against Arthur Henderson, 38, of Ross, for the Jan. 10 robbery of Paul Leung in the parking lot of the House of Lee restaurant in Emsworth. Leung was seriously injured and robbed of $4,000 - $5,000 after returning to his residence above the restaurant after gambling at the North Side casino.

An Avalon police officer escaped without injury, although he was dragged some 20 feet by a vehicle he was attempting to stop last Saturday night.

The man behind the wheel of that car led officers from multiple jurisdictions on a chase through the City of Pittsburgh and North Hills before being stopped and taken into custody.

The incident began just before 1 a.m. when Avalon officers were dispatched to Center Avenue for a reported burglary in progress. Police say they were told that a man had entered the residence and begun moving items outside.

A home on Florence Avenue was reported broken into on Nov. 12.

Police apprehended a man reportedly seen breaking into a West Riverview Avenue home on Nov. 17.

A North Harrison Avenue resident told police Nov. 17 that someone had come into the home, turned on the stove burners, and stolen a Wii game console.

A laptop computer was reported stolen during a burglary at an apartment in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue on Nov. 21.

A man was taken to the hospital with severe facial lacerations after he was assaulted at the bar at the Avalon Motel on Oct. 30. Police arrested motel resident James Retzer Jr.

Officers responding to a report of a domestic dispute at a McKinley Terrace home ended up arresting one of the residents with possession of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia. Charged was Kevin Neff Jr., 24.

Copper pipe was reported cut from the basement of a home on Arch Avenue during a burglary reported Oct. 3.

Trespass into a vacant residence on North Balph Avenue was reported Oct. 1.

Medication was reported stolen Sept. 30 from Kuhn’s Market.

On Oct. 2, Richard Hammel, 22, was arrested for retail theft from Kuhn’s Market.

A vehicle reported stolen from the City of Pittsburgh was found at Kuhn’s on Oct. 3.

Noelle Relac, 25, and George Hilliard, 22, were charged with criminal trespass into a home on South Euclid Avenue on Oct. 3.

Three people face weapons and drug possession charges after a traffic stop on Taylor Avenue on Sept. 28.

Police followed the vehicle with expired stickers from Ohio River Boulevard.The occupants admitted to having a couple knives in the car, which led to a closer inspection of the vehicle and the people inside it.

Matthew Torres, 23, from Pittsburgh, was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 65 in Kilbuck Township on Sept. 22.

Amanda Smith, 28, from Pittsburgh, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Route 65 in Emsworth on Sept. 23.

Ronda Draper, 46, from Pittsburgh, was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Route 65 in Emsworth on Sept. 24.

One of two young men suspected of robbing a man on Grant Avenue Wednesday night was apprehended after pursuit by Bellevue Police.

The victim told police at 9:19 p.m. that he had been approached by two men on Lincoln Avenue. The pair demanded his wallet and said that they had a gun.

The victim told police that the two ran down Grant Avenue after getting the wallet. Police saw them, and began a foot chase. One young man was apprehended on Ohio River Boulevard.

A Jeep Cherokee reported stolen from the Avalon Motel on Sept. 19 was found torched in Riverview Park by Pittsburgh Police.

Ashley Alonzo Merida, 21, of Taylor Avenue, was arrested for simple assault, possession of a controlled substance and harassment on Sept. 18 after he reportedly assaulted his girlfriend and police discovered a small marijuana blunt in his possession.

Eric Stemmerick, 27, of Virginia Avenue, was charged with possession of paraphernalia on Sept. 18 when police discovered a syringe in his coat pocket during a traffic stop.

Pursuit of an attempted robbery suspect opened the door to a narcotics investigation for Avalon Police.

Responding to a hold-up alarm at the gas station on Union Avenue on Sept. 13, officers were told that a man had come into the store with a bandanna over his face, hands in his pockets, and said the wanted “the drawer.” He left without taking anything when informed by the clerk that police were on their way.

Cindy Lou McMillen, 36, from Kingwood, WV, was arrested for fleeing and attempting to elude police, DUI and careless driving following a traffic stop on Route 65 in Emsworth on Sept. 3.

Edward Pinto, 46, of Bellevue, was charged with open lewdness and defiant trespass for swimming naked in the Ohio River On Sept. 4. Pinto was seen near the Emsworth Locks and Dams by a passing boater, police say.

A homeless woman was charged with burglary and taken to jail after she reportedly broke into a vacant Spruce Run apartment on Aug. 31. Police called to the apartment found Tiffany Clark, 20, and two small children sleeping on a mattress on the floor. There was no running water or other utilities available in the apartment, police say. The children were turned over to Allegheny County CYF.

Two parents have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after Bellevue Police received a report that they had chained their 14-year-old daughter and left her alone in the home with only a much younger brother.

Sherry Sheffield, 46, of Sewickley, was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Route 65 in Kilbuck Township on Aug. 26.

A resident of Locust Street in Emsworth reported Aug. 27 that a car was egged sometime during the evening.

Guadalupe J. Smith, 27, from Indiana, PA, was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Arndt Road in Ohio Township on Aug. 28.

Four Pittsburgh residents have been charged in a Union Avenue home invasion that occurred on Aug. 12.

Avalon Police were called to the home just after three males and a female -- who was related to the victim -- pushed their way into the home occupied by a woman and her baby. They are reported to have stolen a laptop computer, an autographed baseball, a cell phone and $500 in cash before fleeing on foot.

The four were discovered in Bellevue, near Orchard and North Sprague avenues, and taken into custody without incident.

Avalon Police are continuing to investigate the burglary of the Marathon station on Union Avenue that occurred on July 31. Some 42 cartons of cigarettes were stolen, police say.

James Lee Jr., 24, of the North Side, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after his vehicle was stopped on Ohio River Boulevard on Aug. 2.

Alvin Clark, 42, of Semple Avenue, was arrested for violation of a protection from abuse order (PFA) on Aug. 3.

Items were reported stolen during a burglary at a vacant house on Grant Avenue on July 10.

Someone is reported to have kicked in the basement door at a home on Davis Avenue on July 4, but was scared off by the homeowner.

Sean McKenna of Bellevue was charged with simple assault on July 6 after police were called to a domestic disturbance on Gilliland Place.

Avalon and Bellevue firefighters were called to Highland Place in Bellevue on July 11 when a house was struck by lightening. Smoke was reported coming from the roof of the home.

On July 23, police saw a man riding on the roof of a vehicle on Brighton Road and Monitor Avenue in Ben Avon. Derek Ian Thompson, 24, of Ben Avon is being cited for reckless driving, and Josh Edward Andrea, 24, from Cranberry, is being cited for public intoxication and disorderly cConduct

Robert Earl Becker, 56, of Ben Avon ,was arrested for simple assault following a domestic dispute at his residence on July 24.

Shannon Kathleen Slaney, 40, of Ross Township, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property at Target on Mt. Nebo Point Drive in Ohio Township on July 25.

A resident of Meadow Street in Emsworth reported July 11 that a truck had been broken into and numerous items taken, including cash, a GPS, a radar detector and a class ring. Total value of the items is approximately $3,500.

Belany's Mini Mart in Ben Avon reported July 13 that two cartons of cigarettes had been stolen by a white male in his mid-twenties with tattoos on both arms, driving a black Ford Explorer.

On June 17, an employee from RedBox reported vandalism to their machine located in front of Giant Eagle on Ben Avon Heights Road.

Erik Richard Hurley, 21, from Bellevue, was arrested for aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and drug possession following an encounter with the police on Center Avenue in Emsworth on June 21.

Darren Wayne Finch, 34, of Emsworth, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of an unborn child, simple assault, and harassment following a domestic at his residence On June 22.

A young Bellevue man faces a number of charges after being connected to vehicle break-ins in Avalon and Bellevue on May 29.

Anthony Malizio, 18, of North Starr Avenue, was apprehended on Union Avenue shortly after police received a report of two men breaking into vehicles on Sedalia Avenue in Avalon. Police say that Malizio confessed to breaking into one vehicle on Sedalia, another on Chatsworth in Avalon, and a third on Hillcrest in Bellevue.

A burglary in the 600 block of Forest Avenue was reported May 7. The resident reported several items stolen.

A laptop computer and PS3 machine were reported stolen during a burglary at a home in the 400 block of Dawson Avenue on May 3.

A resident living near Spruce Alley called Avalon police on May 9 after witnessing someone break into a car parked in the alley. Police found a Chevy with a smashed passenger side window and the truck partially open. The witness told police a white male wearing shorts and a t-shirt had broken into the car, then fled in another vehicle.
