

Allegheny General Hospital - Suburban Campus representative Kathy Ferri shows some of the extravagant theme baskets that are being raffled off to raise money for charitable efforts in the North Boroughs. The annual fund-raiser features baskets containing items donated by different hospital departments. This year’s baskets will include children’s bicycles, a flat screen TV, a Wii fitness package, among many other items. Basket themes are: “Stock Your Pantry,” “Pittsburgh Sports,” “Just Candy,” “Home Entertainment,” “Gift Cards,” “Lottery,” “Pitt/Penn State,” “Holiday Snuggle,” “Cooking,” “Toys, Toys and More Toys,” “Rivers Casino Get-Away,” “Pamper Me,” “You Light Up My Life,” “Wii Fit,” and “Wrap It Up.” Baskets are on display in the AGH-SC dining room Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., until Dec. 14. Raffle tickets can be purchased at a cost of one ticket for 50 cents or three for $1. The winning tickets will be drawn on Dec. 15 and winners notified by phone. Last year’s basket raffle raised $4,668.25. The proceeds of this year’s project will be split among The North Boroughs YMCA Scholarship Program, North Hills Community Outreach, and Hair Peace Charities, with funds dedicated for use in the North Boroughs.
