Essay, poster contests recognize libraries

To celebrate National Library Week, the Friends of Bayne Library are sponsoring a poster and essay contest to recognize the importance of local libraries in the lives of students and their communities.

The poster contest is open to students in grades K-3. The essay contest is open to students in grades 4-12. Each student may submit one original poster or essay, and may win only once.

First, second and third place winners will be selected for the poster contest. First, second and third place winners will be selected from each of the three essay contest categories: grades 4-6, grades 7-9 and grades 10-12. A single grand prize winner will be selected from all essay entries submitted and will receive an iPod Touch and have their essay published in The Citizen.

All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form and returned to teachers or Bayne Library by May 14. Entry forms and contest rules are available in the school office or at Bayne Library.
