The Fellowship of Ministries, representing the churches and the Christian social service agencies of the North Boroughs, invites the community to attend a special worship service commemorating the 10th anniversary of the events of Sept. 11, 2011.

It will be held at the Church of the Assumption, 45 N. Sprague Ave.. in Bellevue, on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 4:00 p.m.

The combined choirs of several North Boroughs churches will sing portions of Gabriel Faure's “Requiem,” under the direction of Dr. Neil Strahurski. This piece was performed in its entirety on the first anniversary of 9-11.

The sermon, entitled "There Is Peace in Christ Alone," will be delivered by the Rev. Dr. Andrew Purves, who is a professor of theology at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a nationally known preacher and conference speaker.

During the service, local first responders will be recognized, and there will be a time for the remembrance of those who died on Sept. 11, 2001.
