The third annual North Boroughs 5K Run/Walk is set to start at 8 a.m. on Saturday July 17.

In the past two years, the race participation has grown from 170 to 280 runners from the Pittsburgh area, surrounding states, and even one runner from Oregon this year.

Once again the course will wind its way through Avalon and Bellevue boroughs, with the start and finish line located at the front of the YMCA

The race benefits the Northgate cross country team and the north Boroughs YMCA Strong Communities Campaign.

Anyone still interested in walking or running will be able to register for the race at the start/finish location at the YMCA beginning at around 7 a.m.
