The crossover currently in place on Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard) in the area of the I-79 interchange in Glenfield will end on Friday, Nov. 5, weather permitting.

Northbound traffic will be switched back onto the newly reconstructed northbound lanes; however, traffic on Route 65 will remain a single lane in each direction through late December. Work to implement the transition will begin at 7 a.m. on Friday.

Crews will be starting the third and final phase of construction for the $20.8 million project to improve the I-79/Route 65 interchange. Remaining work includes reconstructing Route 4033 (center area of Route 65 in the interchange) from Kilbuck Street to the Glenfield Viaduct. Construction also will continue on Route 65 to complete work including drainage, curbing, barrier, shoulder rumble strips, guide rail, highway lighting, signs, and pavement markings and other minor activities.

To allow the remaining work to occur, several ramp closures also will begin or continue on Saturday, Nov. 6. The following ramps will be closed at 7 a.m. Saturday through early December:

Northbound Route 65 to northbound I-79. Take the ramp to southbound I-79, follow southbound I-79 to Exit 65 (Neville Island), exit onto Grand Avenue, take the on-ramp to northbound I-79 from Grand Avenue.

Northbound 65 to Kilbuck Street/Deer Run Road. Take the ramp to southbound I-79, follow southbound I-79 to Exit 65 (Neville Island), exit onto Grand Avenue, take the on-ramp to northbound I-79 from Grand Avenue, take northbound I-79 to Exit 66 (Glenfield) to Kilbuck Street/Deer Run Road.

Southbound Route 65 to northbound I-79. Take the ramp to southbound I-79, follow southbound I-79 to Exit 65 (Neville Island), exit onto Grand Avenue, take the on-ramp to northbound I-79 from Grand Avenue.

Southbound 65 to Kilbuck Street/Deer Run Road.

Kilbuck Street/Deer Run Road to Route 65 (northbound and southbound). Take the ramp to southbound I-79, follow southbound I-79 to Exit 65 (Neville Island), exit onto Grand Avenue, take the on-ramp to northbound I-79 from Grand Avenue, take northbound I-79 to Exit 66 (Sewickley/Emsworth).

Glenfield Viaduct to northbound Route 65. Take southbound Route 65, enter Emsworth, turn left onto Allegheny, left onto Center, left onto Hazelwood , right onto northbound Route 65. Southbound Route 65 to Glenfield Viaduct. Continue on southbound Route 65 (pass under the Glenfield Viaduct), turn left onto Allegheny, left onto Center,·left onto Hazelwood, right onto Route 65, take the Viaduct exit on left.
