Ohio Township Police have identified the man who robbed an Emsworth resident on Jan. 10 as the same man arrested Thursday morning for the rapes of two women in Ross Township.
Ohio Township Police Chief Beaver Micklos said that his officers planned to file charges Thursday against Arthur Henderson, 38, of Ross, for the Jan. 10 robbery of Paul Leung in the parking lot of the House of Lee restaurant in Emsworth. Leung was seriously injured and robbed of $4,000 - $5,000 after returning to his residence above the restaurant after gambling at the North Side casino.
Micklos said that Henderson was identified during the police investigation and after reviewing security tapes from the casino.
By the time of the robbery, Henderson already was suspected of raping two women near Ross Township apartment buildings.
Henderson was arrested in a Wylie Avenue apartment building in the Hill District about 3 a.m. Thursday.
In addition to charges stemming from the rapes, Henderson will be charged with robbery and aggravated assault by Ohio Township Police, and faces federal charges as well, Micklos said.
Micklos said that the investigation by Ohio Township was carried out in conjunction with those by Ross Township and state police.
