Road repairs begin

Motorists should expect traffic restrictions on two state roads in the area.

Slope and shoulder stabilization work is being conducted on Toms Run Road in Kilbuck Township. The road will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Duff Road and Route 65 as necessary between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.

The work is expected to continue through late April.

Route 65 in Glenfield, in the area of the I-79 interchange, will see traffic restrictions and crossover pattern changes as the first phase of work begins Monday to improve the interchange.

Traffic on Route 65 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction, with southbound traffic crossed over into the northbound lanes between Toms Run Road and River Road.

Ramp closures include the southbound Route 65 ramp to southbound I-79, the northbound I-79 off-ramp to Route 65 south, the Kilbuck Street on-ramp to southbound Route 65, the southbound Route 65 off-ramp to Kilbuck Street and the Glenfield Viaduct, and the Glenfield Viaduct on-ramp to Route 65 southbound.

Also, the direction of traffic will be reversed on on- and off-ramps.

The on-ramp from Kilbuck Street/Glenfield Viaduct to northbound Route 65 will become the southbound off-ramp to Kilbuck Street, the Viaduct and I-79 northbound.

The northbound off-ramp from Route 65 to Kilbuck Street and-79 north will become the on-ramp from Kilbuck Street to Route 65 south. Northbound traffic on Route 65 attempting to reach Kilbuck Street and I-79 north will be detoured.

These traffic restrictions will remain in place around the clock through late June. The second phase of the project is expected to begin in late summer.
