Clean-up efforts in the cinder lot section of Bellevue's Memorial Park are continuing.
Bellevue received notice last year from Ross Township -- where the property is located -- that building materials and miscellaneous debris needed to be cleared from the lot, which borders a Ross residential area.
Bellevue Council parks committee member Susan Viscusi reported at Tuesday's workshop meeting that it is possible that Allegheny County might want the jersey barriers that must be removed from the lot. Public works supervisor Tony Barbarino said, however, that Ross Township has agreed to remove and store the barriers so that they are still available to Bellevue if needed.
Viscusi also said that the committee had located a company that would provide and plant 23 blue spruce trees at a cost of $95 per tree. The trees could be used to create a landscap buffer between the lot and the residential area, she said, replacing the trees cut down by Bellevue last year.
