A young Bellevue man appears to have been caught red-handed by Ohio Township Police, and has been charged with stealing from cars in Ben Avon.

Police say that Macklin McDonald, 19, was seen walking in the rain, acting suspiciously, in the area of Kingsland Drive and Perrysville Avenue in Ben Avon on Oct. 2. Further investigation revealed that the contents of his backpack included several GPS units, with their power cords and window mounts, plus some suspected marijuana.

Police later received reports from residents saying items had been stolen from their vehicles.

McDonald has been charged with loitering and prowling at night, receiving stolen property, theft from a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, public drunkenness and underage drinking.

In other news from Ohio Township Police, Brandon Graham, 28, of Beaver Falls, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver during a traffic stop on Route 65 in Kilbuck Township on Oct. 1.

Gary McCray, 39, of Ambridge, was charged with public drunkenness on Oct. 2 after police investigated a report of a suspicious person at Kenny Memorial Field in Emsworth.
