Mary M. Carte
Mary M. Carte, 73 of Steubenville, OH, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Weirton Medical Center. Mrs. Carte was born on Aug. 19, 1936 in Emsworth. She was retired from Suburban General Hospital in as a nurse. She was Catholic by faith, and was a volunteer for the United Way and Red Cross. She was past president of the Women’s Club, and enjoyed reading, line dancing and bowling.
She leaves her husband, Raymond Carte; two sons, William Condit of Cameron, MO and Daniel Condit of Bellevue; a daughter, Sherri Rectenwald and her husband Steve of McKees Rocks; two stepsons, Troy Carte and his wife Lisa of Steubenville and Kevin Carte and his wife Lynette of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Danny and Kim Rectenwald,and step-grandchildren, Jessie Ferrari, Nicholas, Brittany, Alexis and Connor Carte.
Friends were received on Wednesday at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV. Funeral and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Edward Eberhardt Sr.
Edward L. Eberhardt Sr., 71, of Bellevue, formerly of the North Side, died Monday, March 29, 2010.
Arrangements were made by Robinson Funeral Home.
John E. Kosko, 85, of Bellevue, husband of the late Theresa E. Costa Kosko, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Mr. Kosko was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Costa and his wife Barbara of new Milford, NJ and William Costa and his wife Annette of Bellevue; his brother, Robert Kosko; and three grandchildren, William Costa Jr., Charles Costa Jr. and Mary Costa. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Ringbloom.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Wednesday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
Harold P. Kroll, 83, formerly of Avalon and husband of the late Alberta S. Kroll, died Friday, April 2, 2010.
Mr. Kroll was a self-employed certified public accountant.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda K. Hood and her husband Harold Jr. of McCandless and Katherine K. Hess and her husband Kurt C. of Millville, NJ; three grandchildren, Shawn P. Hood and his wife Andrea of Ross Township, Alex K. Hess and Caroline V. Hess, both of Millville; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Hood. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sara R. Hess.

Merlin R. "Merl" Webb, 86, of Ohio Township, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009.
Mr. Webb was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as Sergeant 1st Class. He was past monarch of Islam Grotto.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Paslian Webb; three children, Michael Webb and his wife Phyllis, Michelle Paschi and her husband Kurt and Marilyn Hadley; four grandchildren, Timothy and Nicole Webb and Sarah and Ashley Paschi; and a great-granddaughter, Rylee Anne Marie Dreves.
There was no visitation. A memorial service will be held in Islam Grotto Hall, 3579 Masonic Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 on Saturday, April 10, 2010. Donations are suggested to Make A Wish Foundation, 707 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1908. Arrangements were made by Schellhaas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, West View.

Lucy Vogel Walton, 88, of the North Side, wife of the late Elmer W. Walton, died Tuesday, March 31, 2010.
Mrs. Walton enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her son, Ray Walton and his wife Kathy of Bethel Park; and five grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Bob Walton; and seven siblings.
Friends were received at Paul L. Henney Memorial Chapel, Bethel Park. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Risen Lord Church on Thursday.
Anne G. Minahan of Brighton Heights, wife of the late Joseph P. Minahan Sr., died Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
She is survived by three children, Cora Sultzbach and her husband Pat, Joseph P. Minahan Jr. and Donald P. Minahan; seven grandchildren, Donna, Kathleen, Patricia, James, Kathleen, Kimberly and Melissa; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Harry J. Minahan; her parents, Peter and Anastasia Gallagher; and her grandson, Michael Minahan.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Tuesday.
Edward Mosley Sr.
Edward Lee Mosley Sr. of Lawrenceville, formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
He is survived by three children, Charlene Walters and her husband William, Edward Lee Mosley Jr. and his wife Barbara and YaVonne King and her husband Lorenzo; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends were received at Spriggs and Watson Funeral Home, East End. Funeral services were held in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Sharpsburg, on Wednesday. Burial was in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
George Toth Jr.
George S. Toth Jr. died Saturday, April 3, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Speck Toth; two daughters, Jane Arendt and her husband Frank of Ohio and Beth Camino and her husband David; his sister, Anne Toth; his granddaughter, Amy Terrell and her husband Chris of Ohio; and a great-grandchild, Morgan Terrell. He was preceded in death by his son, George S. Toth III.
There was no visitation. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Tuesday. Arrangements were made by O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side.
Janet C. Freiss Pontus, 74, of West Deer Township, died Sunday, April 4, 2010.
Mrs. Pontus was a 1953 graduate of Allegheny High School.
She is survived by her husband, Alonzo C. "Al" Pontus Jr.; two children, Carol A. Sorokacs and her husband David of West Deer and Vincent L. Pontus of Bellevue; two siblings, Nathan Freiss of Pittsburgh and Iris Konecny of Hampton; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Marie Blasek Freiss; and six siblings, Elaine Freiss, Virginia "Sissy" Zito, Calvin, Elmer "Buddy," David and Warren Freiss.
Friends were received at Siwicki-Yanicko Funeral Home, West Deer, where services were held on Tuesday. Burial was private in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana.
James Allen "Ru" Rusak, 51, of Emsworth, formerly of Ross Township, died Monday, April 5, 2010.
Mr. Rusak was an insulator with Local #2.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Pace Rusak; three children, James, Michael and Melissa Rusak; his mother, Lois A. Rusak of Ross; two siblings, Carol Ward and John Rusak; his mother-in-law, Joan Pace; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Coleman Edward Rusak; and his brother, Mark Rusak.
Friends were received at Simons Funeral Home, North Hills, where a blessing service was held on Friday.
Genevieve White, 91, of Bellevue, wife of the late George H. White, died Monday, April 5, 2010.
Mrs. White was a longtime member of Northminster United Presbyterian Church in Bellevue.
She is survived by two sons, Jim White and his wife Nancy and Don White and his wife Charlene; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, until the time of services on Thursday. Burial was private.
