Mary Lou (Montgomery) Kern
On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, Mary Lou (Montgomery) Kern, formerly of Emsworth, beloved wife of the late Maurice F. Kern, died peacefully at the age of 99. Mary Luella Kern was born on April 11, 1913 to Amelia (Runstetler) & Benton R. Montgomery in Pittsburgh. She grew up on the North Side & Avalon with her four brothers, David R. Montgomery, James B. Montgomery Robert I. Montgomery & Lt. Col. Benton Ross Montgomery, Jr., all of which have predeceased her. Mary Lou Kern married Maurice F. Kern on December 12, 1931 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage that produced a daughter. She enjoyed her home and spending time with her family. Surviving Mary Lou Kern are her daughter, Barbara Ann (Kern) Scharpf (Artur), grandaughter, Karen Lou (Scharpf) Neral (James W.); and great grandsons, Timothy J. & Christopher Neral. Friends received Thursday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm at Simons Funeral Home, Inc., 7720 Perry Highway. Funeral & Burial will be private.

Sharon Donovan
Sharon A. Donovan, 56, of Avalon, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
Ms. Donovan was an author.
She is survived by her parents, James and Pearl Donovan of Avalon; two siblings, Thomas Donovan and his wife Priscilla of Milwaukee, WI and Mary Beth McCauley and her husband Mark of Mars, PA; and aunts, uncles and cousins. She was the aunt of Kendall and Connor;

Frank Bilotta
Frank Bilotta, 83, of Bellevue, died Saturday, April 14, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Bilotta; two daughters, Nancy Feely and her husband Ben of McCandless and Mary Thimons and her husband Rick of Bellevue; three siblings, Dominic, Maria and Eugenia of Italy; 11 grandchildren, Bennett Feely, Daniel and his wife Megan, Julie, Tom and his wife Annamarie, Sara, Katie, Michael, Lisa and Theresa Thimons, Maria Stover and her husband Dan and Amy Spontak and her husband Chad; and nine great-grandchildren.

Gary Chieffe
Gary Edward Chieffe, 61, of Shaler Township, formerly of Bellevue, died Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Mr. Chieffe was recently retired from PNC Financial Services Group, where he was management information systems director.
He is survived by his wife, Katey Haynor Chieffe; three children, Jamie Dagenais and her husband Grady, Nicolette and Ted; his mother, Grace Chieffe; five sisters, Sandra Chieffe, Peg Holtzgrafe and her husband Michael, Debbie Clark, Denise Estep and her husband Doug and Lory Perkins and her husband Bob; three grandchildren, Jaden, Gracie and Garrett; two former wives, Karen Gauna and Mimi Flaherty; nieces and nephews; and his cats, Ma and Hank. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Chieffe.
Friends were received at Neely's Funeral Home, Glenshaw, where services were held on Thursday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 in honor of his mother, Grace Chieffe.

Andrew Kerelitch
Andrew Kerelitch, 84, died Thursday, April 12, 2012.
Mr. Kerelitch was a longtime member of St. George Ukrainian Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Boxer CU21 aircraft carrier 1946-48.
He is survived by his brother, William Kerelitch and his wife Alice; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Petosky Kerelitch; and five siblings, John Kerelitch, Michael Kerelitch, Kathryn Matuzich, Anna Alletse and Mary Osaciew.
Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. Funeral services were held in St. George Ukrainian Church on Monday.

Veronica Schindler
Veronica E. Holmes Schindler, wife of the late Anthony L. Schindler, died Friday, April 13, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Amber M. Quintana; six siblings, Joana Conci, Cyril Homes, Bonnie Marsh, Katie Holmes of Texas, Lyn DeBock of California and Wayne Holmes; two grandsons, James Chatfield of California and Jeffrey Chatfield of Massachusettes; five great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Leopold Quintana. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosemary, Nancy, Sally and Sue; and her grandson, David Chatfield.
Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Wednesday.

Jean Baker
Jean M. Baker, 63, of Cranberry Township, wife of the late Rhinehart L. "Rhine" Baker, died Friday, April 13, 2012.
She is survived by two daughters, Lesley C. Baker of Rock Creek, OH and Erin K. Visnesky and her husband Robert of Vintondale, PA; three siblings, Shirley M. Saccamango of Verona, Helen R. Taylor and her husband Alex of Port Allegheny and Earl R. Stauffer and his wife Inez of Avalon; her grandson, Anthony R. Visnesky; and her sister-in-law, Henrietta "Hank" Reiber of Jensen Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Robert Breauninger.
A memorial service was held in Perry Highway Lutheran Church, Wexford, on Tuesday, with Rev. Roger Nicholson officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Arrangements were made by Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Cranberry.

Catherine Busch Jeffries
Catherine "Kay" Bergman Busch Jeffries, 93, of Bellevue, wife of the late Robert Busch Sr. and George Jeffries, died Sunday, April 15, 2012.
Mrs. Busch Jeffries was a 1937 graduate of Bellevue High School. She was an active member of the Church of the Assumption Christian Mothers and president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden. She was a volunteer at Suburban General Hospital and active in local politics.
She is survived by five children, John Busch of Bellevue, Catherine "Cathie" Busch, Nancy Busch McMurtry and her husband Thomas and Sue Busch, all of California and Robert Busch Jr. of Burgettstown, PA; two stepchildren, Janet Feldman of Florida and Richard Jeffries of New York; two grandchildren, Susan McCandless and her husband Buffie and Tom McMurtry Jr.; her dog, Chevy and her cat, Kiddie Boy. She was preceded in death by a dear friend, Max Sollinger, Sr.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A funeral mass was held in the Church of the Assumption on Friday with a committal service in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. Vincent Komperda
Vincent Komperda, 66, of New Castle, PA, died Monday, April 16, 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie Komperda of Pittsburgh; six siblings, Daniel, Carl, Patty, Pauline, Carol and Christine; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou.

Mary Grace Comport
Mary Grace "Sandy" Comport, 77, of Bellevue, died Monday, April 16, 2012.
Mrs. Comport was an avid card player and bowler, and earlier in her life enjoyed holding craft shows.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Comport; five children, George Eberhart and Greg Eberhart and his wife Christy, all of Bellevue, Cheryl Bavely and her husband Sam of Ohio Township, Joe Comport Jr. and his wife Kerry of Pittsburgh and Mark Comport and his wife Sara of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Harry Forsythe
Harry M. Forsythe, 93, of Bellevue, husband of the late Patricia Kathleen Muck Forsythe, died Monday, April 16, 2012.
Mr. Forsythe was a member of the first graduating class of Steamfitters Local #449. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by five children, Diana, Donna, Dale and his wife Noreen, Douglas and his wife Barbara and Daniel Forsythe and his wife Fern; eight grandchildren, Nichole, Connor, Bridget, Shannon, Daniel Jr., Michelle, Brian and Melissa; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Forsythe Scanlon and her husband Regis.
Friends were received at Schellhaas Funeral Home, West View, where services were held on Friday.
