Sophia Fakles Regas, 89, wife of the late John Fakles and John Regas, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011.
Mrs. Regas was the owner of the River Road Inn in Avalon for 39 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Theodora Fakles and Pandora Bossick and her husband Dennis; her sister-in-law, Shea Banus; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Panagula Danus; and two siblings, Demetrios Danus and Maria Giannakos.
Friends were received at Stephen M. Brad Funeral Home, North Side, and Trinity Greek Orthodox Chapel of St. George Church with funeral services on Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Church Building Fund.
Carol R. Hiben, 71, of Emsworth, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Parish and her husband David, Tracy Hurley and her husband Michael and Pamela White and her husband Eugene; her longtime companion, Richard Sheaffer; two sisters, Sara Bonner and Virginia Barnhart; six grandchildren, Ryan, Patrick, Matthew, Katelyn, Zachary and Kayla; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Sara Richardson.
A memorial service will be held later. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon.
Helena B. Walsh Thomas, 100, of Avalon, formerly of the North Side, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011.
She is survived by her sister, Marion Putz; six grandchildren, Kathy, Patty, Paul, Tom, Dan and Chuck; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene Stright.

Earl Carrol "The Duke" Robinson, 73, of Coraopolis, formerly of Bellevue, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 in Good Samaritan Hospice House.
Mr. Robinson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bellevue, Pittsburgh Night Hawks and the American Legion. He had worked as a customer service representative for Eastern Airlines for 22 years and for 11 years at Parkway Tech. He also had worked at Cornell, D.T. Watson and OK Grocery.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Page Robinson; two sons, Mark Wesley Robinson and his wife Lakeisha of Atlanta, GA and Earl Matthew Robinson and his wife Clair of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren, Taylor, Tora, Jameshia, Ashley and Samarri; and his goddaughter, Rachel. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jeanette Bagley Robinson; and five siblings, Paul, James, Eugene, Delilah and Robert.
Friends were received at Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home. Funeral services were held in Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday with Rev. Roy L. Sims Sr. officiating. Burial was in Coraopolis Cemetery.
Carol Shulek Wilson, 65, of Ross Hill Retirement Residences in Ross Township, formerly of Emsworth, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 in Good Samaritan Hospice House.
Mrs. Wilson was a longtime employee of Holy Family Institute in Emsworth.
She is survived by her husband Raymond "Doug" Wilson; two daughters, Denise O'Connor and her husband Robert and Melissa Owens and her husband Jason; four grandchildren, Andrew, Gavin and Anna O'Connor and William Owens; and dear friend, Laura McCabe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Sophie Gustis Shulek; and her sister, Frances "Sissy" Shulek Berkeybile.

Patricia A. Alston Bisland, 80, of Bellevue, wife of the late Edward C. Bisland, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011.
Mrs. Bisland was a graduate of Allegheny College and received a master's degree in history from American University. She taught nursing students at Penn State University. She served on the Girl Scouts of America board, the YWCA, Greenstone United Methodist Church, AC-ACLD, PA G.F.W.C. and was past president of the North Boroughs Women's Club and the Allegheny County G.F.W.C.

Earl J. Lindner died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011.
He is survived by two sisters, Ethel M. Zotter and Dorothy A. Lindner; two nieces, Linda Schmida and her husband Tim and Sandy Knepper and her husband Bruce; and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hilda Lindner; his sister, Ruth M. Lindner; and his nephew, Kurt L. Zotter. Services and burial were private.
