Several personnel matters were decided by the Northgate School Board at its regular meeting on Monday.

The board approved Shawn Polito as a substitute custodian.

Also approved were supplemental contracts for Victoria DiDomenico as middle school cheerleading sponsor for the winter season in the amount of $1,307, and a $4,017.00 supplemental for Torey O'Donnell as girls' varsity assistant basketball coach for the school year.

The board accepted, with regret, the retirement resignations of Jan Desko, Avalon Elementary teacher effective Dec. 31, 2010 and John Kiger, special education teacher assistant, effective Dec. 22, 2010.

Superintendent Dr. Reggie Bonfield reported that Melanie Zuber has attained professional employee status.

The following people were hired for the Northgate Community Swim Program: supervisors Theresa Benson, Laurel McMahon and Kristie Sawor;
lifeguards David Haupt, Valerie Kampsen and Sean Nypaver; instructor aides Michele King and Gabriel Nypaver; and volunteer aides Elizabeth Booth and Raelyn Saunders.
