A time crunch will leave Bellevue among the uncounted when the Allegheny County Health Department considers the adoption of new air quality guidelines on July 1.

Citizens involved in the effort to update the guidelines asked Bellevue Council to join other local municipalities in adopting a resolution urging the county to adopt the new rules. Officials attending council's June 2 meeting, however, said they were unaware of the requested resolution despite the fact that the citizens said that they had dropped off a copy at the borough hall last week.

Council will not meet again before the county is expected to decide the matter.

Council members Mark Helbling, Lisa Blaney-Stewart and Jerry Walter were absent.
