There will be no further investigation into allegations that an Emsworth Council member violated state ethics laws.
Emsworth Council member Paul Getz read a letter from the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission to council at its meeting on Wednesday. The letter dealt with allegations that Getz had violated section 1103(a) of the Pennsylvania Public Official Ethics Act, which prohibits a public official from engaging in conduct that constitutes a conflict of interest. It was alleged that Getz had authorized his own employment by the borough, as well as payment by the borough to him for his services without approval of council.
The letter stated that no investigation was going to be conducted by the Ethics Commission due to lack of evidence to support the allegations.
