Avalon will readvertise an opening in its streets department in the hope of getting applicants with some specialized skills.

Council member Patrick Narcisi suggested that the borough first interview the existing applicants to determine if they had such skills. He also asked whether anyone had followed up on a suggestion that Avalon and Bellevue share the cost of a mechanic already employed in Bellevue's DPW.

Borough manager Harry Dilmore said that Bellevue officials had discussed the idea with him, but any further action had been postponed until Bellevue's new council took office in January.

Council approved the readvertisement in a 6-2-1 vote, with Narcisi and Vicki
