Domestics lead to felony arrests

Two men face felony charges in separate domestic-related incidents handled this past week by Ohio Township Police.

Police say that Jaryd Boyer, 27, of Glenfield, grabbed the steering wheel of a car driven by his girlfriend while they were traveling on Route 65 in Emsworth on Tuesday. He was apprehended at the BP station after struggling with police and hitting an officer. Boyer faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest.

Patrick Aydelott, 49, of Royal Valley, PA, was arrested April 24 after, police say, he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s Cypress Knoll, Ohio Township, home and stole jewelry. He then nearly struck her with his car when leaving, police say. He has been charged with theft, burglary and recklessly endangering another person. [Update: Charges were withdrawn by the victim at a preliminary hearing for Patrick Aydelott.]

In other news from Ohio Township Police, two-and-a half barrels of scrap metal were reported stolen from Jax Equipment in Kilbuck Township on April 23.

Matthew Holleran, 23, of Baden, was picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant from Westmoreland County during a traffic stop on Route 65 in Emsworth on April 23. He also has been charged with possession of paraphernalia and suspected heroin.

Kari Bergfaulk, 22, of Hopedale, OH, was charged with driving under the influence on Mt. Nebo Road in Ohio Township on April 24.
