The resignation of Northgate eighth grade girls' basketball coach Bill Quinn was announced at the school board's Aug. 9 committee of the whole meeting.

The board recently replaced Quinn as the varsity girls' basketball coach.

Superintendent Dr. Reggie Bonfield said that he hoped to expedite the posting and hiring process for the position because the eighth grade basketball season begins Monday.
