The Port Authority has announced changes to the 16 Brighton (formerly 16B Brighton) route related to the Jacks Run Bridge reconstruction. The changes went into effect this week and are expected to last through Dec. 1.

Riders using the 16 Brighton bus route should be aware of the following adjustments:

Before 2:p.m., inbound buses will pick up and discharge passengers at the outbound bus stops along California Avenue between Termon Avenue and Wynhurst Street in Brighton Heights.

Riders in Brighton Heights along Brighton Road, Cambronne Street, Wynhurst Street and California Avenue heading outbound may board inbound trips at outbound stops and transfer to outbound 16 Brighton service on Brighton Road at Benton Avenue. Free transfers will be available to make this connection.

After 2p.m., riders in Brighton Heights along California Avenue, Wynhurst Street, Cambronne Street and Brighton Road heading inbound may board outbound trips at outbound stops and transfer to inbound 16 Brighton service on Benton Avenue opposite Kleber Street. Free transfers will be available to make this connection.

Outbound buses will pick up and discharge passengers at the inbound bus stops along California Avenue between Wynhurst Street and Termon Avenue in Brighton Heights.

Detours and stop changes already in effect for 17B Avalon via Shadeland Avenue, 18B Avalon-Shadeland Avenue Express, 18C Bellevue-Union Avenue Express and 500 Highland Park-Bellevue will remain unchanged with one exception. The inbound stop for the 500 Highland Park-Bellevue trips located at California and Termon will temporarily be relocated back to the intersection of California and Orchlee. This change is already in effect.
