A Bellevue man faces multiple felony charges after he attempted to outrun police on a motorcycle, then threw himself into oncoming traffic.
Police say that David Davis, 35, may have become agitated after being served with a Protection From Abuse (PFA) no-contact order earlier Wednesday night. About 1 a.m. Thursday, he was observed on a motorcycle on Ohio River Boulevard in Emsworth, where police say he ran the red light at Camp Horne Road.
With officers in pursuit, Davis raced down the highway, finally pulling over at Toms Run Road, according to Ohio Township Police Chief Beaver Micklos.
Micklos said that Davis immediately jumped on top of the hood of the police car and kicked in the windshield. He then threw himself onto a passing vehicle, yelling “just kill me.”
Davis was taken to Allegheny General Hospital where he spent the night. According to Micklos, he was determined to be under the influence of both alcohol and cocaine, and did not have a driver’s license.
He now faces charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, recklessly endangering another person, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and two counts of driving under the influence.
