Several people were taken into custody at the Avalon Motel on outstanding arrest warrants.

Two people wanted for questioning by Stowe Township were located there on April 15. Amanda Smith and Corey Thompson of Ellsworth, PA were arrested and turned over to Stowe. Police say several syringes and empty bags believed to have contained heroin were in the room.

A drug overdose at the motel resulted in the apprehension of Richard Deringer, 41, of Mt. Nebo Road, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Allegheny County. Medics were called to deal with an unresponsive woman believed to have overdosed who was with Deringer. The incident occurred on April 20.

A video camera was reported stolen during the burglary of an Avalon home reported April 15. No further information was available.

A South Ohio Street woman reported April 16 that her purse and wallet had been stolen.

Kenneth Wigham of California Avenue was charged with public drunkenness on April 17 after he reportedly ignored a police directive to stay home after being found passed out in a vehicle about three blocks away, police say. Police say they found Wigham back at his car later and cited him.
