Emsworth Council member Amy Adams has resigned her seat.

In a letter read at council's meeting Wednesday, Adams said that she appreciated the opportunity to serve for three-and-a-half years, but needed to resign immediately for personal reasons.

Council voted 4-1 to accept her resignation, with Dan lenz opposed, and Adams and David Heflin absent.

Council has 30 days to appoint someone to fill the seat.
